Christmas Card Camp - Oh What Fun!

Yesterday's Christmas Card Camp was a lot of fun! Thank you to everyone who attended. Each person made 20 cards and 10 tags. Multiply that by 12 guests and you can see that there was a lot of crafting going on!

Each participant purchased a supply package for $40 which consisted of:
  • Jolly Holiday Designer Paper (117159)
  • Card stock - We did a paper share and each person received 6 sheets of Cherry Cobbler (119685), 6 sheets of Old Olive (100702) and 20 sheets of Very Vanilla W (101650)
  • Ribbon - We did a ribbon share and each person received 5 yards Old Olive 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon (119767) and 5 yards of Cherry Cobbler seam binding (120992)
  • 20 Very Vanilla Envelopes (107300)
  • And a matching Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Write marker so their greeting and signature will match their card.
Then everyone brought a covered dish and their adhesive of choice. Once everyone arrived, they had use of all of punches and stamp sets. We used:

Stamp Sets:
  • Grateful Greetings (116511)
  • Every Little Bit (120558)
  • Delightful Decorations (116517)
  • and a couple of retired stamp sets for the tags.

Candy Cane Inspired

When I think of Christmas, I think of candy canes and nothing says "candy canes" like this simple red and white color scheme.  I used a piece of Real Red designer paper from the Brights paper pack, Real Red ink and the Delightful Decorations stamp set. To create the border element on the card I used the Baroque Border wheel.

TIP:  If you don't have an ink cartridge for your wheel in the color that you want to use, just roll the wheel across a classic ink pad to ink it up.  This method works well for an image not more than 5" long. The ink tends to run out on strips longer than 5".

  • Stamp Set:  Delightful Decorations (116517)
  • Stampin' Wheel:  Baroque Border (109675)
  • Ink:  Real Red (103133)
  • Paper:  Real Red designer paper from the Brights Paper Pack (117155)
  • Card Stock:  Real Red (102482), Whisper White (100730)
  • Punch:  Extra Large Ornament (119847)

Make Merry!

Let's make merry with this simple and elegant Christmas card. To create this card  I used the Jolly Holiday Designer paper and the "make Merry" tag stamp from the Grateful Greetings stamp set. Stampin' Up!'s small tag punch is the perfect size for this stamp, and the large tag punch is the perfect size for punching out a coordinating mat for the tag. Add a bow made from Cherry Cobbler seam binding (holiday mini) and the card's complete.

  • Stamp Set:  Grateful Greetings (116511)
  • Ink:  Cherry Cobbler (119669)
  • Paper:  Jolly Holiday (117159)
  • Card Stock:  Very Vanilla (101650), Old Olive (100702), Cherry Cobbler (119685)
  • Ribbon:  Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding (120992)
  • Punches:  Large Tag (119866), Small Tag (119876)

Card Making Night - Card #2

Sorry the postings have been a little sparse recently. My daughter's high school swim team was hosting the District swim meet last week and it required a lot of my time. It was a tremendous amount of work, but it was definitely worth it. For the first time in history, her high school won districts for both the boys and girls teams. Katie came in 3rd in the 500 free and 5th in the 100 back and is moving on to regions in both events. Way to go OHS! Way to go Katie!

This is the second birthday card we made last week at Card Making Night. We used Elegant Soiree designer paper. This paper is great because it works well for either a feminine or masculine card. For a little added dimension we used Stampin' Dimensionals to attach the greeting.

  • Stamp Set:  On Your Birthday (111664)
  • Ink:  Soft Suede Classic Ink Pad (115657)
  • Designer Paper:  Elegant Soiree (117163)
  • Card Stock:  Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Baja Breeze, Basic Gray
  • Accessories:  Stampin' Dimensionals (104430)
