Happy Halloween everyone. These are the trophies that Aubrey and I made for the swim team Halloween party. The bases are made from wooden candlesticks that we spray painted black and then added some decorative touches. The glitter skulls were generously donated by our friends the Wooldridges. And the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place rosettes were made out of glitter paper and my new Stampin' Up! Simply Scored Scoring Tool. To make the numbers I wrote with the Multipurpose Liquid glue and sprinkled with silver Stampin' Glitter.
Making the rosettes is easy. Just cut strips of paper 1 1/2" wide by 12" long and score every 1/4". Accordion fold on the score lines. After you have scored you strip of paper, cut off one 1/4 inch fold at the end of your strip. apply adhesive to one of the ends of paper and attach both sides of strip together to form cylinder. Place the cylinder on a flat surface and press the outer edges down and out to form rosette. Apply strong glue or glue dot to a 1" circle and attach to top center of rosette to hold in rosette shape. I found a great tutorial on the Amy's Creative Outlet blog. She has lots of photos which are really helpful!
